Roma, Italy

The actual IC Parco della Vittoria school has been established in 2012, by merging the pre-existing schools “Giacomo Leopardi” (primary school) and “Giuseppe Gioachino Belli” (lower secondary school).
Our education is enriched by several activities such as: science courses, music courses, language certificates, linguistic enhancement of German, creative writing, the “Book Festival”; all these activities are offered with a constant attention to inclusion, pro-sociality, multiculturalism and to wellbeing and solidarity.
The school in addition to receiving pupils from the area, welcomes students from neighboring areas and, in some cases, even more distant neighborhoods, often connected to the commuting of parents who work for the numerous offices in the area of foreign students and children of immigrants employed by resident families.
The socio-cultural reality, fairly homogeneous, is characterized by:
- an upper-middle class primarily engaged in the service sector;
- a generally high cultural level (the majority of parents of students has graduated), a wealth of social infrastructure (theaters, cinemas, libraries).
The analysis of students' enrollment in secondary schools of 2nd degree, over the last three years, attests that the choices are geared mainly towards the classical high schools and scientific. The training requirements, qualitatively consistent, respond to the multiplicity of interests and cultural stimuli of the pupils and their families. Thus having as reference the users' needs and the needs of the community, the planning of the school has been moving towards a constant enrichment and improvement of the training in close connection with the objectives defined at European level.
Over the last years, our school has received numerous awards, such as the European project “Kids Science Inn”, the inclusion in the database "GOLD - The good practices of the Italian School", promoted by INDIRE, the first prize of the Global Junior Challenge for BYOD classroom (Bring Your Own Device) among more than a thousand international projects presented.
The Institute is associated to the network "UNESCO schools" and has been repeatedly identified by Telecom to implement the "Navigate Together" project aimed at bridging the generation gap in the use of new technologies; we have been reported by France Théâtre for our Theatre course in French language and by the Goethe Institut with plaque award for the merits acquired for the dissemination of German culture and especially for the theater in German.
Our school is also leader of the Network of Schools of the Municipality I of Rome and has also been identified by the Ministry of Education as a School Regional Centre with the task of "cultural defense, organization and training" in the field of integration processes for in-service training on the issues of disability.
