Perisoru, Romania

Perisoru is a village situated in Calarasi county, in Romania. It is situated in the south of Romania. It contains two more villages Perisoru and Tudor Vladimirescu.
Gymnasium School no1 Perisoru includes primary and gymnasium education.
 It includes 441 pupils, aged between 6 and 15, 30 teachers , 1 support teacher. 55 of the students are institutionalized in “St Stephen”  orphanage and  9  of them have special needs . The rest (3 of them) of the special needs children come from families who live in Perisoru village. There is a large number of children who come from families who do not know to read or to write.
The most important duties of the teachers are to continue in an scientific and organized environment the process of teaching and educating the children. The priorities  are in accordance with the school curriculum and  their main purposes are to create the key competences, aptitudes and abilities  useful in life. The courses served to the students are included in the common curricula.   We have a permanent desire to improve the services offered by our school to the community so the students who  graduate will have a higher capacity to adapt to the social and professional needs of our society.
The major directions of the institution are:
- personal development according to the individuals'  aspirations and desires to learn permanently throughout their entire life
-  social integration of all the pupils,  especially of those who are institutionalized in ”Sf. Stefan” orphanage (12 special needs children) and of those whose parents work abroad.  These children do not have the affection they need from their parents and as a result  are affected their communication skills and an appropriate behaviour
- developing life concepts based on cultural, moral, national, scientific values
- stimulating the intercultural communication
- the process of teaching considering the spirit of  tolerance and the human rights
- developing the sense of respect for the nature and the social, cultural, environment
- a permenent  development of the teachers through courses intended to increase the ITC instruments and modern methods used to work with the  children with special needs
We need to improve our teaching methods through exchanges of good practices because our main purpose is to offer an adequate quality of services according to each individual needs.
